He was teased at Evo 2013, and now Chief Thunder is officially stepping out of the shadows to join the Killer Instinct roster. While the dual tomahawks were pretty much a dead giveaway, they didn’t quite reveal the extent to which the Native American warrior would be completely reimagined.
A behind-the-scenes video from IGN reveals Chief Thunder’s new look, showing him as a more fearsome face-painted warrior. The changes will extend beyond the character model, as Thunder will be positioned as more of a close-range grappler, as opposed to the quicker-hitting version of the character that some remember from the original Super NES classic. He will, however, retain many of his specials from the original game.
