More Mystery Case Files may hit DS, Wii

A portion of a C3 interview with Big Fish Games…

C3: Will more of the Mystery Case Files titles be heading to DS in the future? And what are your thoughts on creating a brand new MCF exclusively for Nintendo’s portable?

BFG: Mystery Case Files is a brand new, exclusive title for the Nintendo DS. You can’t find it anywhere else! If it makes sense to make another Mystery Case Files game on the DS, we will certainly do it.

C3: Point-and-click games have so far proven to work very well on Wii. Are you currently considering bringing with MCF or something similar to either Wii or WiiWare?

BFG: Nothing is planned yet, but we are always exploring options and looking for ways to bring our brand of entertainment to the world. If it aligns with our vision for our properties, we will definitely pursue it.

The Conduit – use ASE to unlock game bonuses

The All-Seeing Eye will play an important role in The Conduit. You won’t be able to make it through the game without its help. While that may be a fun mechanic in and of itself, we now find out that the ASE will unlock game bonus content as well.

There will be messages hidden throughout the game, and it’s up to you to use the ASE to hunt them down and translate the alien messages. Doing so will unlock bonuses within The Conduit, but specific details on these bonuses remains to be revealed.

Something Old, Something Blu: Quantum of Solace

This article from Jeremy Parish takes a look at the Blu Ray release of Quantum of Solace, and then the gaming history of James Bond. Bond may have the luxury of having the most memorable, high-quality video game ever. Who would have thought that a movie-based game would turn out to be a gaming revolution? Goldeneye’s influence is still felt in the game industry today, and no one has achieved the level of quality set by that title.

Now available on FileShack is the EA Game De-Authorization Management Tool, a 5.42MB download meant to help owners of EA PC games balance install limits.

While the publisher has already released a variety of game-specific de-activation tools, this one serves as a catch-all, scanning your system for any Electronic Arts game released after May 2008 that may have authentication limits, and then providing information on the amount of authorization slots in use and how to disable them.

Games covered by the tool include:

Chinavasion’s Multi Platform Portable Gaming Entertainment Station

Hmmm…I wonder where the inspiration came from for this! Even better (and by better I mean worse), this system will play illegally downloaded NES, SNES, Sega Genesis, Game Boy Advance, Neo-Geo, and certain Capcom CPS1 and 2 arcade system games from a Mini SD card. Nintendo, are you ready to stomp on this?

Hardcore Nintendo: How the Wii isn?t Just for Casual Gamers Anymore

I never thought it was a bad time to be a Wii gamer, but right now is probably one of the best times to love the Wii. We have first party outings on the way, such as Excitebots and Punch-Out!! Wii. We also know that Mario and Zelda are being worked on. That’s what leaves room for third parties to come in with core content like never before. The Conduit, House of the Dead: Overkill, Madworld…they are all signs of one direction Wii gaming is heading.
