I honestly do not agree with that statement. I brought up my feelings during my interview with Denise Kaigler. I told her that I was disappointed with Nintendo’s showing during E3, but I also understood where the company was coming from. Nintendo’s AAA franchises are marked as so because they are top-notch…and top-notch takes time to make. Back on the 64, did people say that Nintendo were failing the core? How about in the days of the Cube? No…that statement was never made. We complained about lack of third party titles, and how long it took Nintendo to create their games.
Now, we still complain about the same thing. The problem is, now Nintendo is making casual and expanded audience titles as well. Nintendo still makes the same amount of core gamers, and it still takes them years to do so. This time around, Nintendo fills gaps with expanded audience games, and better creates a library for everyone. Nintendo doesn’t rush their games…never have and never will. Why for two generations did we complain about Nintendo being slow, but now they are ignoring the core?
Also…name another time span that gave us Mario Kart, Zelda, Mario, Metroid, and Smash Bros. so released so closely to one another!

Nintendo is failing the core Wii gamer, regardless of what they say
