Godfather II could possibly drop this year

Electronic Arts also had a conference call today, but I didn’t get a chance to listen in. Word is, none other than Electronic Arts CEO John Riccitiello let loose some information on Godfather II. Mr. Riccitiello expects the game to hit sometime late 2008, early 2009. I don’t know that 2008 would be the best time for the game, since there really hasn’t been promotion for the title. Then again, how much promotion does the Godfather need?

id: Rage to Arrive ‘When it’s Fun and When it’s Done’

Though work on id’s open-world first-person shooter Rage (PC, PS3, 360, Mac) is progressing, project lead Tim Willits has revealed that any possible release date is still well in the future.

Asked if Rage would hit in 2009, 2010 or 2011, Willits only responded to the 2011 inquiry, saying that it’s “not that far out.”

“It’s not like we know and we’re not saying,” he explained to Eurogamer. “It’s just, again, it’s when it’s fun and when it’s done. Unfortunately that is the answer I have to give.”

Animal Crossing: City Folk- Does anyone care?

Ouch, that’s quite a tough question. Do I care about City Folk? I definitely do, but it’s not at the tippy-top of my list of games to look forward to. I will get the game, enjoy it a great deal, and that’s that. There isn’t all that much to get excited about. I want to try the online, I want to do voice chat, and I am eager to rebuild my world. Pretty much, the bulk of my interest comes from knowing that I’ll be diving back into familiar territory. How do you feel about City Folk?

How To Be a True Nintendo Fanboy

virtualboy 1

I have one, do you? Truth be told, I didn’t get mine at launch. Back then, I was still dependent on my parents for my gaming needs. I don’t know why, but it took me a few years before I picked one up. I really do think this is a hugely important part of Nintendo’s history, and any self-respecting fan should have one. Of course, if you don’t have the scratch for it, I understand!

Sega?s other trademark

pb

Everyone is buzzing about a return of Jet Grind Radio. I do hope that becomes a reality, no matter what the platform. I would prefer Wii, but anything will do! While we wait for news on that, we can check out Sega’s other trademark.

Project Beauty…no platforms, no details…no anything. What is this game, when will we hear about it, and what platform is it going to? Who knows, maybe it won’t even be a game!

The quest for virtual fitness

Wii Fit is all the rage, even if you have already grown tired of it. People are still snatching up every last copy that trickles into stores. This software/hardware could be the ticket to virtual weight-loss. We’ve already seen some people lose significant amounts of weight by sticking to a Wii Fit program, but there’s more to it than swaying side to side on the balance board. Wii Fit can lead you to a healthier life, but to truly become fit, you’ll have to change your lifestyle while you’re at it.

Where have all the Star Fox gone?

sfsad

Awhile back, we told you guys that StarFox.com was having a bit of trouble. It looked like the site was being revamped. Today, reader Kevin brings us sad news. StarFox.com is gone…it just redirects to Nintendo.com. Where in the world did all the Star Fox sites go? I am honestly starting to get nervous. The Star Fox series is one of my favorites…I hope something isn’t wrong in the Lylat System. Is this a sign of trouble ahead, or the hint of a possible redesign/reveal?

More Call of Duty and Guitar Hero Sequels in 2009

Activision today revealed that it is planning to release future iterations in the Guitar Hero and Call of Duty franchises during 2009.

According to Activision Publishing CEO Mike Griffith, the publisher’s 2009 lineup will include “multiple new Guitar Hero SKUs [and] an all new Call of Duty [due to our] leapfrog studio strategy.”

The next entries in both series, Guitar Hero World Tour and Call of Duty: World at War, are due out later this year.

The “leapfrog studio strategy” refers to the company’s practice of rotating development responsibilities. Series creator Infinity Ward has helmed Call of Duty 1, 2 and 3, while Treyarch has produced Call of Duty 3 and the upcoming Call of Duty: World at War.
